The Architectural Association of London in collaboration with “Casa Fondazione Morra” in Naples Italy, after its success last year, is now offering its second 10 day workshop based in Naples Italy. Students and Professionals will be learning directly from first hand expertise local moulding artisans that will be using a historically original collection of more than 500 “silicon moulds” dating from 1700 till today. In the course we challenge, question and compare dated ornamentations and generate our own formal grammar through moulding in plaster.
The course will be tutored by Local artisans, London based professional moulding technicians and a group of international experts in the fields of architecture. Design, technology, history and the theory of art and architecture will lead the workshop. During the course and its lectures we also include several organised guided tours of the Emblematic Historic Monuments in the city of Napoli. NAPLES NATIONAL ARCHEOLOGICAL MUSEUM, ROYAL PALACE OF NAPLES, HISTORIC CENTRE OF NAPLES and all its monumental facades.
